# Piloxa

> Piloxa prepares USPS Certified Mail from a letter or PDF, then gives the person a review link. The person must inspect the exact document, verify the recipient, see the total, pay, and authorize before anything is printed or mailed.

Piloxa is a product of Decentralized Publishing LLC in Irvine, California. It is a mailing and record-keeping service, not a law firm, and its public educational pages are general information rather than legal advice.

## Core capabilities

- Prepare a letter in ONE tool call, from letter text, from the text of a document that is already finished (printed as written), or from an uploaded PDF preserved byte for byte.
- Check the recipient address before purchase.
- Offer Certified Mail with optional Electronic Return Receipt.
- Keep the exact document, SHA-256 fingerprint, recipient, the service bought and the mailing record together; USPS tracking events and the signature record are added to it as they are reported back, and the record says plainly where nothing has come back yet.
- Quote the exact all-in price to an assistant before anything is prepared.
- Accept assistant handoffs through remote MCP tools that cannot charge or mail by themselves.

## Price

- A one-page letter by USPS Certified Mail costs $13.18 in total, including printing, envelope and postage. This is the cheapest price Piloxa charges.
- Adding the Electronic Return Receipt, the record of who signed for the letter, costs $16.17 in total. This is the default service.
- The exact total for the actual letter is shown on the review page before any payment. There is no subscription and no account fee.

## Assistants can hand over the finished document

- An assistant with the Piloxa connector can pass the finished letter itself: either the complete letter text, or the bytes of a finished PDF (up to 4 MB), which Piloxa keeps byte for byte and never rewrites.
- The person does not have to download, re-upload, print or retype anything. They open the review link, check it, pay and authorize.
- If the assistant cannot read the file, it can still prepare everything else and the person attaches the PDF on the review page.

## Safety boundary

- The MCP endpoint only prepares a draft and returns a review URL.
- Nothing is mailed and nothing is charged during an MCP tool call.
- A signed-in person must approve the exact document and payment on piloxa.com.
- Live mailing is open to anyone, for letters to any US address.

- Tool: prepare_certified_letter — one call hands the letter or document over and returns a review link. The recipient can be pasted as the address block from the letter. No account, no sign-up and no payment are needed to reach that link, and the person reads the document and the exact total on it before signing in to pay.
- Tool: quote_certified_letter — read-only: returns the exact all-in total for a given page count and service, preparing nothing.
- Tool: get_certified_letter_status — read-only: what USPS has reported about a letter prepared through this connector in the same conversation. Piloxa asks the print and mail provider afresh on each call. It cannot see letters from another conversation or another person; those are opened by signing in at https://piloxa.com/app. A stage with no scan means none has been reported, which is not the same as a failed delivery.
- Suggested request: “Prepare this letter for Certified Mail with electronic return receipt.”
- Accepted as a custom connector by Claude, ChatGPT in developer mode, Gemini custom apps, Perplexity and Grok, and by software built on the xAI, Anthropic and OpenAI APIs as a remote MCP tool. No key, no OAuth and no account are required to connect.
